William "Gene" Whitley, of Philadelphia, passed away at the Simpson House in Philadelphia on February 22, 2013. He was 80 years old. Born in Goldsboro, NC, he was the son of the late Willie and Lillie (Johnson) Whitley and the beloved husband of Pamela Yvonne Whitley. He is also survived by his children Careen, Brian, Vanessa, Wade, Stephen and Lisa; and his grandchildren Annelise, Jessica, Christian and Ixchel. Services will be private.
