William "Bill" James Gilbert, 83, of Palm, passed away at his home on April 15, 2015. Born in Allentown, he was the beloved husband of Geraldine "Sissy" (Charles) Gilbert. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this June. He was also the son of the late Norman and Ellen (Roth) Gilbert. Bill served with the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a decorated veteran having served time as a Prisoner of War (POW) in North Korea for 27 months. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his three children Susan Beu, of Hereford, Wayne (Barbara) Gilbert, of Hereford, and David Gilbert, of Zionsville; four grandchildren Kyle, Tara, Derek, and Briella; one great grandchild Ayden; two brothers Lester and Ronald, both of Zionsville; and two sisters Betty and Marian. He is predeceased by his sister Nancy. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Red Hill, PA 18076 with Rev. Marty Milne officiating. A viewing will precede the service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Old Zionsville.
