Mr. Zappala worked in automotive sales at Springfield Ford for many years and retired in 1978. He was an avid hunter, bowler and horseback rider.

Mr. Zappala is survived by his two daughters Rose Zappala Devitt and Joanna Zappala and one grandson Thomas Zappala Devitt all of Pennsburg. He is also survived by two foster daughters Debbie (David) Crossett of West Chester and Lori (Bill) Klinger of Boothwyn and four foster grandchildren.

A funeral Mass celebrating Mr. Zappala's life will be held on Thurs., Aug. 19, 2010 at 11am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg. A viewing will precede Mass at the church from 10am to 11am. Int. will follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA.
