Thomas J. Conway, III, of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 23, 2026. He was 84 years old.

Born in Darby, Pennsylvania, Tom was the son of the late Caroline (O’Connor) and Thomas J. Conway, Jr. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy (Janton) Conway, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Tom attended Villanova University and proudly served in the United States Army. He spent his career in the automotive industry, a field in which he developed both deep knowledge and a lifelong passion.

Tom was known for his uncanny ability to fix just about anything, a gift he generously shared with family and friends. Whether something needed repairing, figuring out, or simply an extra set of hands, he was always ready to help, and those who knew him knew they could count on him.

Above all, Tom was devoted to his family. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his two sons, Thomas J. Conway, IV (Denise Ouchi) of West Palm Beach, Florida and James R. Conway (Jessica Scully) of Fort Washington; his grandson, Jax Conway; his brother, Paul Conway (Rosemary) of Media; his sister, Patricia Phelan, widow of the late Joe Phelan, of St. Augustine, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen (Conway) Monaghan, and her husband, Jack Monaghan.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, September 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Thomas J. Conway, III.
