Sebastian "Sonny" Campanella, age 86, of West Chester, Pennsylvania died November 16, 2023 from complications of a stroke.

Sonny was born on July 27, 1937 in Pennsylvania to his father, Fortunato, and his mother, Josephine. He graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1955 and later Temple University in 1959, where he received an associate degree in architecture. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra Campanella (nee Ottaviano).

Sonny was the proud owner and operator of the 60-year company, Sharkey Lawn Sprinklers, now operated by his son Steven. He was a loyal and loving servant of the Catholic Church, where he contributed as an usher for more than three decades. Sonny was an unflappable fan of the Philadelphia Eagles for over 60 years. He loved his family. He loved his home, including the devoted companions along the way, Merit and Lucy, and his beloved Koi.

In addition to his wife, Sebastian is survived by his two sons, Steven (Donna) and Scott (Christina); five grandchildren, Julian, Quentin, Danielle, Luca, and Gemma; stepchildren, Meg, Duke, and Ann; step grandson, Michael, who shared his childhood years with Sonny; sister, Joann Hazzard (Vance); nieces, Vanessa and Kathy; and nephews, Edward and Andrew. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann Campanella (nee Sherry) and sister, Concetta.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10am to 11am on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382. A mass will follow at 11am with Rev. Russell Ortega officiating. Interment private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Brandywine Valley SPCA: bvspca.org/donate.
