Rosemarie Rita
Clark
July 3, 1942 – August 14, 2024
Rosemarie Rita Clark, 82, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Francis Mellon and Rita Catherine (Brown) Schick. A lover of Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets, the Mummer's Strut, and all things Philadelphia, Rosemarie embodied the love and strength of the city, where she was raised and met her husband, James J. Clark. They were married on November 16, 1963, and were married for 60 joyous years.
In the early years of their marriage, Rosemarie enjoyed life as a committed military wife, which led her to be President of the Officer's Wives' Club. After their time in the military, Rosemarie raised her family in Middletown, Ohio, where she worked in property management for many years before her retirement. Rosemarie was active in her parish and served on the parish council board for many years; she also served as president of the school board for Bishop Fenwick High School in Middletown. She was invested in the youth entrepreneurial program Junior Achievement, participating in the program for many years. With a deep passion for education and business, Rosemarie was a fierce advocate for her family. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends, and watching her children and grandchildren participate in their many sporting events. She was an active member of her local square dance club and often told stories of how she enjoyed taking part in their "banner raids". She loved reading the newspaper and sharing articles, travelling and visiting wineries across the globe for wine tastings, and hosting social evenings with friends and family. A social butterfly, Rosemarie loved a good Manhattan cocktail, but none better than those made by her husband, Jim, who was always sure to add extra cherries.
Rosemarie leaves behind a legacy of love, passion, strength, and humor. In addition to her husband, Rosemarie is survived by her sons, Brian Clark (Lynda) of Alpharetta, GA, and Shawn Clark (partner Ioana) of Santa Clara, CA; daughter, Kelly Offutt (Jim) of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Rita Offutt (partner Jake), Claudia Offutt, Vincent Offutt, Jack Clark, Abby Clark, Rachel Clark, and Nicholas Gawolek; her siblings Matt (Lisa) Schick, Marita (Bill) Tinney, Franny Schick, Jack (Patty) Schick and Joe (Ann Marie) Schick; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is pending. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Oliver H. Bair Co. (610) 449-8585.
