Robert "Bob" W. Banister, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in his home on October 21, 2015. He was 64 years old. Born in Philadelphia to Edward and Eleanor (Palzer) Banister. He was the beloved and loving husband of Donna M. Dougherty. Bob was an IT systems programmer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two brothers, Ed and Dick (Cheryl) one sister, Amy (Carl Stitch) and three nephews, Rick (Ada), Dan (Niki) and Sean (Chelsea). Bob was an avid cyclist, skier. He also loved gardening and spent many hours at The Spring Gardens helping to improve the community garden while also planting and enjoying his own garden. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob's name to Kennett High School Mini-THON 2016 with the donation credited to Gemma Erickson (Donna's niece).
