Richard B. Marple of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025.  He was 79 years old.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late J.H. Brinton and Susan (Johnston) Marple.

Richard was raised in Springfield, Delaware County and earned his bachelor's degree from Temple University.  He later served in the United States Navy and worked in administration for a luxury real estate company.  In his spare time, Richard loved gardening and caring for his numerous pets.  He was a devout animal lover and advocate.

Richard built many friendships over his lifetime, especially with Tish Dugan and Tammy Lippincott, who became his caregivers.  They cherished the 40-year friendship they were able to share with one another.

Richard is survived his cousins, Nancy and Wayne McClaren, and many friends, who will miss him dearly.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11am in the chapel at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.  A viewing will precede the service from 10am to 11am in the cemetery chapel. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name are requested to an animal rescue of your choice.
