Ralph Gladstone, of Philadelphia, passed away at the Delaware Valley Veteran Home on Sunday, November 22, 2015. He was 89 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late David and Minnie Gladstone.
Mr. Gladstone served in the United States Army during World War II. After which he received his BA and post graduate degrees at Columbia University. He was also an author of textbooks in Greek and Roman mythology and an adjunct professor at the American University in Paris. He was also a superb linguist very fluent in Latin, Greek, Hebrew, German, French, Russian and Spanish. As well, a master chess player. A member of the German and French societies and the Poe House in Philadelphia He is survived by his brother Sidney Gladstone (Marie), of Ridgefield, CT.
