Born in Latvia, Mr. Lazdins was the son of the late Peteris and Matja Lazdins. He had his Master's degree in Geography and served as a lecturer and professor in a variety of universities during the post World War II refugee era in Germany. His research was published in various magazines and newspapers. Mr. Lazdins was also a member of the Philadelphia Society of Free Letts since 1955 and served as the organization's librarian and historian.
