Nicholas Arcinese, of Norwood, passed away on June 21, 2020.  He was 59 years old.  Born on November 18, 1960 at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia, he was the son of Nicholas Arcinese and Ann Jean Robeika Arcinese.

Nicky, a man with Down Syndrome, remained home with his family until July 2, 1978 when he was admitted as a resident of Don Guanella School. Nicky enjoyed 40 years of residence at Don Guanella Village (DGV) until he was discharged in 2018 due to medical necessity. He might best be described as a "character" full of personality and some mischief. He loved sports, especially the Eagles and the Phillies, along with bowling. He was fun loving, enjoyed Church, and was an altar server. A bit stubborn at times yet he loved his DGV family and was dearly loved by all. In his times of mischief, he would look to excuse that with a smile, a laugh, and a hug while saying "I'm sorry." Finally, he fashioned himself as a soldier and you knew that by a sharp click of his heels and a firm salute.

Nicky no longer had any surviving family but he will be dearly missed by his DGV family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 29th at 10:30 AM in St. Madeline's Roman Catholic Church, 110 Park Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078.  A viewing will precede Mass at 10:00 AM.  Interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence, 20 E. Cleveland Avenue, Norwood, PA 19074.
