September 3, 1925 – January 29, 2024
Minnie DeLuca of Downingtown passed away peacefully at St. Martha Villa on January 29, 2024. She was 98 years old. Born in Isnello, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Elisa (Orteliva) Cannici and beloved wife of the late Frank DeLuca.
Minnie worked as a seamstress in New York after immigrating to America. She and her husband raised their family in Brooklyn and Long Island until later moving to Florida where they spent many happy years together. Minnie loved to read, play cards, and visit the casinos.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Persofsky (Larry) of King of Prussia; two grandsons, Mark and Jason (Sarah) Czubachowski; nieces, Elise Grosch , Kathy Brown , and Anita Sciarotta; and nephews, Tom and Salvatore DeLuca. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Elise Bonsignore, and eight siblings, Joseph, John, Benjamin, Carmello, Nicholas, Salvatore, Anna, and Celia.
Relatives and friends are invited to Minnie's funeral Mass on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11am in the chapel at St. Martha Villa, 490 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. A visitation will precede the Mass from 10am to 11am in the chapel. Mass will be livestreamed at the following link for family and friends unable to attend the services. Minnie DeLuca's Funeral Mass
Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469 on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 1pm.
