Michael J. Kerins, of Boothwyn, and formerly of Broomall, Downingtown and Malvern, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2019. He was 71 years old. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Frederickson) Kerins.
Michael attended Villanova University and proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He owned Hobby City in Broomall in the 1980s and Ardmore Typewriter in Ardmore and later in Frazer during the 1990s and 2000s. He recently worked as an electrician. Michael loved trains, fireworks, gun collecting, and history.
He will be dearly missed by his son, Thomas Kerins (Courtney), of Downingtown; three daughters, Elizabeth Harris (Drew), Jennifer Kerins, and Nicole Swank (Roland), all of Coatesville; and eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Oliver H. Bair Funeral Chapel, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Michael's name to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
