Margaret Graham Mitchell, 100, life-long resident of Upper Darby, passed away peacefully on Thurs., Feb. 8, 2018 in the home  that her family built.  She was the daughter of the late William and Grace Grey (Geddes) Mitchell, both from Selkirkshire, Scotland. Margaret graduated from Friends Central Overbrook in 1935 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1939 with her Degree in Elementary Education.

Margaret taught at Stonehurst Hills Elementary School for 40 years as a third-grade schoolteacher.  She was always interested in the children she taught and community affairs. Margaret was the president of the Llanerch Women's Club and The Girls from Oak Park.  She also taught Sunday school and enjoyed traveling, piano, and Bridge.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Fri., Feb. 16, 2018 at 11 AM at Christ Community Presbyterian Church, 337 Riverview Ave., Drexel Hill, PA 19026.  A viewing will precede the service from 10 AM to 11 AM in the church. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret's name are requested to Christ Community Presbyterian Church, see address above or Friends of the Upper Darby Twp.
