Laurence T. Robbins, of Philadelphia, Pa. died on Monday, January 11, 2010. He was 69. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he was the son of the late Leonard Robbins and Shirley Tanner Ross. He was a graduate of Central High School (Class 210). He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University in 1962. Larry held a Master's Degree from the Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. He enjoyed a more than thirty year career in the School District of Philadelphia where he taught English at West Philadelphia High School and at the Franklin Learning Center. He is fondly remembered for his dynamic stewardship of the Drama Club and the Newspaper at West Philadelphia High School. Larry was an avid supporter of the arts. He was a subscriber and patron of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Ballet and numerous drama organizations. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Ray, of Allentown, PA, his brother-in-law, Glen, of Allentown, his nephews, Tim Ray, of Eagleville, PA, and Steven Ray of West Chester, PA. Services and Internment are private. The Oliver H. Bair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
