Joseph C. Callaghan, of Telford, passed away at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown on Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was 90 years old.  He was the beloved husband of Edna M. (Morawski) Callaghan and the late Catherine (Feuse) Callaghan, who died in December 1980.

Joe was born in Philadelphia on October 26, 1926 to the late Thomas and Margaret (Watson) Callaghan.  He proudly served in the United States Navy and worked in the automotive industry.

In addition to his wife, Edna, he is survived by his four children, Joseph C. Callaghan, Jr. (Chanthu), of North Wales, PA, Kathleen Callaghan (William Mitchell), of Madeira Beach, FL, Heide Miller (Bruce), of Wyncote, PA, and Shawn Callaghan (Andrew Slachta), of Effort, PA; four stepchildren, David Rieger (Linda), of Telford, PA, Michael Rieger (Susan), of Perkiomenville, PA, Deborah Healy (Edmund), of Macungie, PA, and Cindy Wertz (Dave), of Telford, PA; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.  In addition to his parents and first wife, Catherine, he is also predeceased by his five brothers, Thomas, Paul, Martin, Edward, and John Callaghan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing preceding Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church.  Interment will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to JDRF - Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, 555 Croton Road - Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
