It is with great sadness that the family of John Francis Gough shares the news of his passing on March 18, 2018.  John was 83.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Natalie, and his children Dave, Bob, Joe, Rich, Jonathan, Kristin, Amy, and Chris—as well as his ten grandchildren, and siblings Honora Jackson, Thomas (deceased), and Walter.

A graduate of Saint Joseph's University and Yale Law School, John was widely regarded as one of Pennsylvania's preeminent business, corporate, and bankruptcy attorneys, spanning 58 years in private practice with several of Philadelphia's largest and most prominent law firms.  In 2005, John established his own firm to focus on his passion for alternative dispute resolution.

In addition to a highly-accomplished legal career, John contributed his talents to numerous Philadelphia community and professional organizations, including: Secretary and Board Member of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation; Chair of the Task Force for the Tidal Schuylkill Master Plan; Co-Founder and President of the Hospitals Attorneys Association; Board Member of the Center City Residents Association; and President of the Kennedy House Cooperative Corporation.  In his spare time, John enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, and reading.

A mass of Catholic remembrance will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on April 14, 2018 at Saint Malachy Church, 1429 North 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in John's name to the Schuylkill River Development Corporation ( schuylkillbanks.org ), or the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network ( bcan.org ).
