Joan B. (Boyer) Hildenbrand, of Red Hill, passed away in Topton, Pa. on Friday, January 30, 2015. She was 80 years old. Born in Allentown Pa, she was the beloved wife of the late Leroy Hildenbrand. She was also the daughter of the late Charles Bauer Sr. and Mary (Drey) Bauer. Joan worked as a factory worker at Keystone Transformer for many years. She was also well known in her retirement community for helping others out and hosting things such as pot luck dinners and Christmas parties. Joan was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; who took pride in her family whom she loved so dearly. Joan truly loved camping, playing bingo, and watching her game shows or her "stories". She also had a tremendous passion for country music and specifically for the late, Johnny Cash. Joan also enjoyed a local performer "Crazy Elmer" and his band mates that he played with over the years. She would follow them anywhere. She always looked forward to warmer weather so she could plant her flowers and do her gardening. Being the oldest child in her family, she is survived by her siblings, Douglas A. Boyer, husband of Linda, of Macungie; Larry E. Boyer, husband of Lydia, of Pottstown; Veronica L. Schuler, wife of Roland Sr., of Quakertown; Charles D. Bauer Jr., husband of Rosemary, of Alburtis; and Linwood R. Bauer, husband of Jane, of Alburtis. A daughter, Sharon R. Bartholomew, wife of William, of Birdsboro; her son, Barry P. Day Sr., husband of Vanessa, of Macungie; five grandchildren; Kelly Coleman, wife of James, of Pottstown, William Bartholomew Jr, husband of Dyanna, of Douglassville, Kristi Ledford, wife of Jack, of Douglassville, Shy'ane Wohlbach, wife of Nicole, of Topton, and Barry Day Jr., of Macungie; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded by her siblings Sandra R. (Boyer) Grim, of Kutztown; and Lillian (Boyer) Hoffman. Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements are by Monaghan Funeral Home, Red Hill.
