James Francis Utley of Upper Darby passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2023.  He was 53 years old.  Born in Springfield, he was the son of John and Patsy (Gleason) Garr. He was also the husband of Tracy (Fewkes) Utley.

Jim was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and a member of the Roofers Local 30 Union for 27 years. He loved sports and especially enjoyed coaching at St. Laurence's School and Monsignor Bonner High School. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, fisherman, hunter, dog lover, and Wawa patron.  Jim had a great sense of humor, and you would never know what would come out of his mouth.  His humorous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his son, James Utley; maternal grandmother, Elaine Gleason; brother, Scott Garr (Maria); sister, Sandy Garr Moore (Gregg); nieces, Caitlyn, Ava, Savannah, Riley, and Eliana; and many, many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oliver H. Bair Funeral Home, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name are requested to the American Heart Association: www.heart.org/donate .
