James Jones accepted the Master's call to his eternal home on Friday, April 12, 2024.  James was born to the late Orver and Stella Jones on February 9, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA.

James was educated in the Philadelphia public schools. He worked as a butcher, contractor, and mechanic. He was a jack of all trades. To know James was to love him.  Boy, did he have some great stories and jokes, even when he didn't feel well.

He met his loving wife, Barbara, in 1960 and they wed in 1961. From their union four children were born, James, Jr., Linda, Donna, and Aaron. James and Barbara were married for 51 years until God called her home in 2012.

James is survived by his children, James J. Jones, Linda Wilder (Kevin), Donna Jones, and Aaron Jones; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Jones; five grandchildren, Tanisha McGlond, Jennifer Jones, Danielle Jones, Jeremy Clary, and Kamille Carson; six great grandchildren, Chloé Summers, Jessica Jones, Raymond Jones, Khalif Wilder, Nolan Haymond, and Kymani Clary; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Floris, Morris, and Donald; and seven sisters, Geneva, Pearline, Kim, Maude, Rochelle, Gloria, and Shirley.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Oliver H. Bair Funeral Home, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will immediately follow in Fernwood Cemetery, 6501 E.
