James Henry Hurtt, IV, of Stuart, FL, and formerly of Newtown Square, PA, died at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. He was 85 years old. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the beloved husband of Shirley (Rostmeyer) Hurtt for 60 years and son of the late James Henry Hurtt, III and Marion (Nagendank) Hurtt. Mr. Hurtt received his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Bucknell University in 1952 and was the President and CEO of Mynol, Inc in Broomall for 27 years. He enjoyed a term as President of the Marple Newtown Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) in 1963 and was active in the organization for many years. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting small and large game, sport fishing for marlin and sailfish and spending many hours on the golf course, which helped him win several amateur tournaments. He was one of the founding fathers of the Cape May Marlin Tuna Fishing Club in Cape May, NJ. He loved his family and shared his enjoyment of his hobbies with them so much that they made them their own. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Terry Ann Hurtt Dalsey, DMD (William Colwell Dalsey, MD, MBA, FACEP) of Blue Bell, Pa; son, James Henry Hurtt, V (Melissa Hurtt) of Lothian , MD, son, Craig Austin Hurtt, DMD (Anne Hurtt) of Chester Springs, Pa and grandchildren: Kaitlyn Dalsey (Deniz Ilhan), Jennifer Dalsey ( Quinn Grimes, MD), Kristina Dalsey, Madeline Hurtt, James Henry Hurtt, VI and Christopher Hurtt. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Barbara Beatty of Simpsonville, SC. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 3625 Chapel Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment will be private.
