Dr. Hideko Kaji of Philadelphia passed away on January 18, 2023.  She was 91 years old. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Sakae and Tsuneko (Matsuda) Katayama.  She was also the beloved wife of Dr. Akira Kaji.

Dr. Kaji was a tenured professor of Pharmacology at Thomas Jefferson University.  She was an established researcher. She loved her students, and her hobbies included swimming and snorkeling.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Kenneth Kaji of Philadelphia; son, Eugene Kaji of Madison, WI; daughter Naomi Shodhan of Seattle, WA; and daughter, Amy Kaji of Los Angeles, CA.

Graveside services will be held at The Woodlands in Philadelphia Friday, February 3, at 1:30pm.
