Winslow
March 13, 1904 – January 2, 2009
Known as "Aunt Helen" to all who knew her, she was the loving wife of the late Haskel E. Winslow, a prominent Philadelphia realtor who preceded her in death in April of 1984. The couple had been married for 43 years.
Mrs. Winslow spent her working career as a Dental Assistant. As an involved community member, she worked with the Barnes Foundation for many years; was actively involved with the Philadelphia Flower Show and served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Senior Center. She was also one of the original volunteers at the "Coffee Cup", a charitable community center for the elderly in center city.
Mrs. Winslow loved the Arts, especially the theater. She visited Broadway in New York and always had season tickets to the Pennsylvania Ballet. An avid golfer in her younger years, she and her husband were active members of the Chester Valley Golf Club.
Mrs. Winslow is survived by one Brother, David Pye of Aldan and several nieces and nephews. An Episcopal funeral service will be held at the Oliver Bair Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at 11AM. In her memory, donations to the Phila. Senior Center FBO the Coffee Cup, 509 S. Broad St., Phila., PA 19147. Attn: Development Office would be greatly appreciated. Interment is in Glenwood Cemetery in Broomall, PA
