Gregory Gontaryk, of Drexel Hill, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2021.  He was 70 years old.  Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late John Michael and Helen (Bruchal) Gontaryk.  He was also the loving husband of Janet Leonard, Anna Ashenfelder Dimovitz and the late Mary Ellen (Vajdic) Gontaryk.

Gregory earned his bachelor's degree from C.W. Post College and worked as a benefits counselor for the Social Security Administration until his retirement.  Greg was known to be highly competitive. He was a lifelong bowler, threw audio darts and played the sport of Goalball at an elite level. He played Beep Baseball since 1984 and is a member of the National Beep Baseball Association's Hall of Fame. He was a member of St Alice Parish and later St Laurence.

In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his daughters, Melisa Caroselli and Heidi Mastrothanasis; sons, Christopher and Christian Gontaryk; grandchildren, Steve Porrini, Joe Caroselli, and Bill Caroselli; brother, Jonathan Gontaryk; nephew, John Gontaryk; niece, Nicole Gontaryk; and many friends and teammates.  He is also survived by his dog, Archie and his grand pups, Harlee, Kobe, JJ, Storm, and Sundog.  In addition to his parents and second wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer, and stepmother, RoseAnn Gontaryk.
