Geraldine Blazic was born on February 18, 1950 at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of three children born to Nicholas and Catherine (Churner) Blazic. Her father described her as a "puppy dog" because of a quizzical expression on her face.  She passed away on August 19, 2024 at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Geraldine was a peaceful woman, a lady of leisure who loved to sit and relax in her recliner. Gerri, a name used affectionately by her family and friends, was easygoing, quiet, easy to please, pleasant, and very predictable. She had eyes that could look into your soul and she captured the hearts of many. She may have been non-verbal but she had an understanding for life.

Geraldine was a faithful participant at Horizon House for many years. She interacted and built relationships with various staff who will miss her tremendously. She lived of simplicity, finding joy in little things and cherishing the moments spent with staff and housemates who became her family.

Geraldine leaves behind to cherish all of her great memories and her Horizon House family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Oliver Bair Funeral Home, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.  A service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 am.  Interment in Montrose Cemetery, Upper Darby.
