George J. Wenger, Sr., of Media, formerly of Upper Darby, passed away at Riddle Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 4, 2018.  He was 67 years old.  Born in Upper Darby to the late Leonard J. and Margaret (O'Hara) Wenger, he was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Daws) Wenger, who died in 2001.

George proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He later worked in heating and air conditioning for many years and retired in 2007.

He is survived by his four children, George J. Wenger, Jr. His wife, Jessica (Atta) Wenger, of Pangburn AR, Jennifer Wenger - Huber, of Drexel Hill, Joseph Wenger his wife, Lindsey (D'Alessandro) Wenger, of Broomall, and Leonard Wenger, of Drexel Hill; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brother, Leonard Wenger.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Oliver H. Bair Funeral Chapel, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc., 7008 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003.
