Esther P. Thornton, of Middletown Township, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021 at Lima Estates.  She was 87 years old.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Isabel (Sands) Potter.  She was also the beloved wife of the late John F. Thornton, Jr.

Mrs. Thornton worked as a secretary for her family's business, Ridpath & Potter Co.  She is survived by her two sons, Scott Thornton, of Drums, PA, and Bill Thornton, of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandsons; and one great grandson.
