Errie Irene Hugh, of Philadelphia and later of Glenside, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2022.  She was 85 years old. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ponce de Leon and Ora (Robinson) Mills.

Mommy was an avid cook and foodie. She absolutely loved to try new restaurants to enjoy with her children. She also enjoyed attending church services with her son David, where she especially loved listening to Gospel. She and her daughter Beverly were constant shoppers, sharing and exchanging their finds and mailing them to each other regularly.

Mrs. Hugh is survived by her children, Robert Hugh, Jr. (Persko L. Grier), of Wynnewood, David Hugh, Beverly Robb of N.C., and Nolan Hugh; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her life partner, Nolan Ward.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Historical African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, 6361 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Masks and social distancing will be mandatory inside the sanctuary. Interment will occur in the Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, PA.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate.
