Elena D. Keno passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at her home in Red Hill. She was 70 years old. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Dolores (Colon) Keno. Elena worked for many years as a social worker for the City of New York. Prior to becoming a social worker, Keno was a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York City. Elena is survived by her sisters Milagros "Millie" G. Williams, Mary "Rocky" A. Williams of New York, New York and by her older brother Jose A. Amoros of Woodside, New York and her best friends Barbara Hughes of Red Hill and Helen "Aggie" A. Lee of Morrisville. Elena or "Keno" as she was called is survived by her sisters-in-law: Evelyn Rivera of New York and Elizabeth David Amoros of Woodside. Elena also had numerous nephews and nieces both kin and of the heart. Her "kin" nephews: Gardner Rivera, James F. Amoros, and Briane "Kent" K. Williams. The list of her "extended" family is longer than the Mississippi River. We ask all of you to submit photos or personal stories to this website. Let's truly make her a "superstar". Elena "Helen" was known by many names: Keno, Titi, Beebop, Peanut,Smoky Joe, Lee Cross were just a few. Each of these names signified something special to those who knew her.It didn't matter what your pet name was for her, she was still the strong, funny, heroic woman we all loved. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 12:30PM at Monaghan Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Red Hill, PA 18076 (next to Red Hill Ford) with Fr. Robert A. Roncase officiating. A viewing will precede the service from 11AM to 12:30PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ. Arrangements by Monaghan Funeral Home.
