Durlin Adair Daniels-Cole's Obituary

Durlin, We Think About You Always,

We Talk About You Still, You Have Never Been Forgotten,

And You Never Will,

We Hold You Close Within Our Hearts

And There You Will Remain,

To Walk and Guide us Through Our Lives,

Until We Meet Again.

Durlin Adair Daniels-Cole was born on August 24, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Elder Edward Daniels, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Daniels (Monroe). Durlin was 61 years old and departed her earthly life peacefully and transitioned to be with the Lord on January 13, 2022. Durlin was the fourth child of eight. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Edmondson High School. Durlin was introduced to the Lord by her loving and God fearing parents at an early age and with her parents and siblings she attended church regularly where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Due to Durlin's strong family upbringing and values she worked daily to reflect kindness, mutual respect and walked in Christ. When asked how are you doing Durlin would always say "Trying to Maintain." Not only did Durlin maintain, but she also thrived and went on to establish her own family.

On July 29, 1980, Durlin married Gregory Cole, Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland. From this union their son Gregory Cole, Jr. was born in Baltimore and their daughter Kel'li Sherrene Cole was born in Philadelphia where the family took up residence. Although Gregory Sr. and Durlin went their separate ways, love always conquered and they remained friends until Durlin's earthly departure. Durlin's loving companion for over 20 years Thurman Daughtie, Sr. affectionally called Mr. Jimmy brought Durlin joy and happiness and preceded her in death in June, 2019. Durlin and Mr. Jimmy made multiple trips back to Baltimore to spend quality family time with Durlin's siblings spreading love and making wonderful memories.

Durlin completed cosmetologist school in Philadelphia at Wilfred Academy of Hair & Beauty Culture, Inc. Durlin was employed for years at Community Council as a Specialist Case Manager. Durlin always opened her doors and welcomed you with a kind word, a delicious meal, or an uplifting scripture. She loved reading the Bible, enjoyed going to stage plays, comedy shows, fashion and loved puppies. Durlin was a trendsetter with her hair styles and wardrobe and her love for her children and grandchildren was unlimited.

Durlin leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her children, Gregory Cole, Jr of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.; Kel'li Sherrene Cole of Duluth, Georgia and seven loving grandchildren: Milan, Nysir, Siyah, Olivia, Sariyah, Miara, and Jabril. Durlin was preceded in death by her sister Cynthia (Daniels) Blackledge (2009) and survived by her brothers Edward Daniels Jr., Leroy Daniels, Sr.; her sisters Janel (Daniels) Clark of California, Mary (Daniels) Squirewell, Keitha Daniels, Willie Ann (Daniels) Cameron and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
