Douglas Lynn Cox of Philadelphia passed away on July 16, 2023. He was 77 years old.  Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of the late Carol Eugene and Maribelle (Harter) Cox. He was also the beloved husband of the late Janice Kuchka Cox for 53 years.

Douglas received an MBA / BS in Finance from the Wharton School, served our country in the United States Coast Guard, and spent the majority of his career as a CFO.  He volunteered at many organizations, including the University of Pennsylvania, Old Pine Street Church, Friends Select School, the Phi Kappa Sigma Educational Fund, among many others.  He enjoyed the beach, golfing, gardening, skiing, and spending time with his friends and family, particularly his four grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, David (Lisa); daughter, Kristen Santiago (David); grandchildren Charlotte Cox, Lucy Santiago, Alice Cox, and Harrison Santiago; sister, Penelope Cox, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Old Pine Street Church, 412 Pine Street, Philadelphia, at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity that is most meaningful to you or by planting a tree in Douglas' memory through Give the Gift of a Tree (phsonline.org).
