Derek English, Jr. of Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2022.  He was 36 years old.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Derek English, Sr. and the late Cassandra (Dargan) Alleyne. He was also the loving father of Derek and Destiny English.

Derek was a successful battle rapper and loved to express himself through music. Whether it's freestyling in the house, walking around with huge headphones thinking it's a music video or using any piece of paper to write his rhymes on. Derek was a true musician, in and out. He will always be remembered for his charming ways, beautiful smile and confident attitude. He enjoyed watching the National Geographic Channel because he admired the beauty of animals. Also, in his early years he played softball. Despite anything he went through behind closed doors, he always tried to lend a helping hand to the loved ones around him, showering them with love. Derek had no problem meeting friends wherever he went, that's why his love for others will continue to live on in many lifetimes.

In addition to his father and children, he is survived by his sisters, Dawnya, Martha & Delice, his nephews, Booka, Ansord & TJ; nieces, Brandi, Sandy, Montana, Aaliyah, Dallas, Kingsley, Kamaura & Kempress; and many aunts, uncles and cousins he loved dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Derek's life on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Oliver H. Bair Funeral Chapel, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.  A viewing will precede the service from 10:00am to 12 Noon in the Chapel.
