Dennis F. Hummel, 94, of Philadelphia, PA., passed away peacefully at Pennsylvania Hospital on January 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. Mr. Hummel was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. He was married for 57 years to Joan H. Hummel, who predeceased him in 2014. He is survived by his son, Holden (Betsy) and grandson Holden Jr., and daughter Victoria Kreider (Torsten), and grandson Maxim.

Mr. Hummel earned both an Undergraduate and Master's degree from Temple University in Business. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity where he made lifelong friends. Mr. Hummel taught Distributive Education for 30 years at South Philadelphia High School.

In 1957, he and his wife founded Metropolitan Reporting Bureau where he worked every day until his passing. He especially enjoyed countless friends and family in Ocean City, NJ, and Palm Beach, Florida. He also enjoyed traveling and trans-Atlantic crossings.

Mr. Hummel was an active member of the Union League of Philadelphia, The Bachelor's Barge, the Ocean City Yacht Club, and the Palm Beach Yacht Club. He was also supportive of numerous charitable organizations, including the Philadelphia Art Museum, Friends of Rittenhouse Square, and the Flagler Museum.

Services were held privately at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
