Betty L. Basel, of Philadelphia, passed away at the Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon E. Basel, who passed away on March 9, 2010. Born in Mankato, Kansas, she was also the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gates) Handley. Mrs. Basel is survived by her daughter Lisa Basel Brown (Francis), of Havertown; and two grandsons Dylan and Joshua Brown. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Basel's name to Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, 1800 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146. Funeral arrangements entrusted to The Oliver H.
