Barbara A.
Dunlevy
July 27, 1954 – February 15, 2025
Barbara A. Dunlevy, age 70, passed away peacefully at Fair Acres on February 15, 2025. Barbara was a proud resident of Prospect Park, PA for a few years after moving there with her daughter and granddaughter.
Barbara was born on July 27, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA and was a 1972 graduate of Northeast High School. She was the eldest of four children to the late Kenneth Howard Koch, Jr. and Virginia May (Hollowell) Koch.
"Ms. Barb" dedicated more than 23 years to Walmart until falling ill and retiring in 2024. During her time there, Barbara built strong relationships with coworkers and customers that she considered extended family. Despite her illnesses, she never lost hope that one day she would be able to return to work to see all of her friends, coworkers, and customers. Even in her last few weeks, Barbara still talked about going back to Walmart with those friends that she missed so much.
Barbara always had a passion for music and was known to sing out loud. She loved Classic Rock, Motown Music, and many other genres and artists. She was especially fond of The Temptations and was Aerosmith's biggest fan. Barbara enjoyed relaxing by spending time with her family, watching her favorite tv shows, and cuddling up with her cats, or "her babies" as she would call them, to watch Hallmark Christmas movies. She loved going shopping and dining at her favorite establishments, Famous Dave's and Texas Roadhouse.
With a smile that could light up any room and her positive spirit, Barbara left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her presence radiated warmth and positivity. She was the type of person who was always there without hesitation for those she cared about. Though her time with us will always feel too short, the impact of her life will be long remembered. She taught us to embrace life fully, love deeply, and always look for the good in others.
Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Kelly Theresa Dunlevy, and her granddaughter, Aryanna Vivian Santiago. She will be dearly missed by her three sisters, Wilma Donnelly, Carolyn Wheeler and Vicki Ritch; her nieces, Desiree Wheeler and Terri Brooks; great niece, Madison; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Barbara was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Lastly, Barbara's daughter Kelly would like to thank the nurses, doctors, caregivers, and staff at Fair Acres that showed Barbara compassion and respect. She also wants to give a special thanks to Terri Brooks and Maria Dunlevy, whose support has meant so much.
In this difficult time, Barbara's family has established this GoFundMe as a way to support in her unexpected passing. The money raised will contribute toward the cost of arrangements and a memorial service to be held at a later date at Evangel Assembly of God Church located at 725 W. Ashland Avenue, Glenolden, PA 19036. While this is not expected of anyone, Barbara's family greatly appreciates any and all contributions towards her arrangements in lieu of flowers.
