Balfour A. Saunders, affectionately called "Jim" by his family and friends, passed away unexpectedly at Bryn Mawr Hospital on June 28, 2023.  He was 66 years old.  Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he was the son of the late Alfred and Ermine (Flash) Saunders.

Balfour lived in Ardmore and worked as an electrician. He had a profound love of music and a God-given talent as a singer.  He shared his amazing vocals and passion for writing music while performing with his band, Nagasa. They performed in various places like Avalon, New Jersey and Philadelphia.  He also enjoyed playing the guitar, fixing cars, and mentoring the young people in his community. He had a very strong sense of community and helping others.

He is survived by his three children, Balfour "Stuart" Saunders of Ardmore, Taylor Saunders of Drexel Hill, and Alan Saunders of Ardmore; granddaughter, Amelia Saunders; sister, Elora "Kathleen" Davis of Jamaica; brother-in-law Herman Davis; brother, Paul Saunders of Jamaica; niece and nephew; Kurt and Kathy-Ann Davis; and former wife, Lecia Brown (Dawn) of Drexel Hill.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 12 Noon at Bethel AME Church, 163 Sheldon Lane, Ardmore, PA 19003.  Interment private.
