Born in New Britain Township, she was a daughter of the late George C. and Vestilla D. (Stever) Kister.

In her earlier years, she worked for the former Sapphire Hosiery, Telford, and the U.S. Gauge, Sellersville. From 1970 to 1980, she assisted her late husband in the operation of the former George A.C. Meier Funeral Home, Red Hill. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Red Hill.

Surviving are two daughters: Barbara E. Weeks and her husband, Merle E., Jr. of Red Hill; and Martha S. Weaver and her husband, Ryan S. of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandchildren: Andrea L. Weeks and Kevin A. Weeks, both of Red Hill; two sisters: Vestilla M. Murray of Sellersville and Esther L. Saylor of Lansdale; a sister-in-law, Mary (Meier) Leight and her husband, Dr. Robert L. of Quakertown; two nephews: James D. Steeley of Sellersville and David R. Leight of Quakertown; and three great-nephews: Joshua R. Leight, Nicholas D. Leight and Jonathan W. Leight, all of Quakertown.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Funeral Home, with a viewing preceding the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Gardens, Clearwater, Fla.
