Obituary

Alexander Nicholas Dramis, of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 26, 2026. He was 87 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Alex was the son of the late Filomena (DeMayo) and Domenic Dramis.

Alex worked in insurance, but his true passion was music. A talented guitarist, music was a constant and meaningful part of his life. He briefly taught at a music college and also shared his love and knowledge of guitar through private lessons. Whether he was playing for others, teaching a student, or simply enjoying music himself, it brought him tremendous joy.

Alex had a special place in his heart for stray cats, often bringing them in, caring for them, and making sure they were safe and loved. He could never turn away an animal in need, and his home and heart always seemed to have room for one more.

He was a kind and compassionate man whose warmth, generosity, and genuine love for others touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Alex had a gift for making people feel welcome, comfortable, and he never missed an opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone and approached life with an open heart, always ready to help, listen, or simply brighten someone’s day.

Above all else, Alex loved his family more than anything in the world. His love for them was unwavering, and the memories he created with them will remain cherished forever.

His memory will live on in the music he shared, the people he made smile, the animals he cared for, and, most of all, in the hearts of those he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Olga Dramis of Drexel Hill; son, Alex Dramis of Drexel Hill; his granddaughter, Samantha Amadio (Nick); his great-grandchildren, Josephine and Henry; his sister, Marie Alessi (Harry); his former spouse, Beatriz Coello; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 10:00AM to 11:45AM at The Oliver H. Bair Funeral Home, 8500 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
