Albert C. Openshaw, 89, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died Jan. 26, 2011. Son of the late Herbert and Rose Openshaw, and 1952 Drexel University graduate. Worked for W. E. Shipley Machinery Co. from 1953 to 1988. Served in the US Army from Nov. 1942 until Oct. 1945 and trained at Camp Wheeler, GA, as an infantryman, but was later transferred to combat engineers. He spent two and a half years overseas serving in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. Survivors: Beloved wife of 68 years, Adele (Pope); children Albert M. (Caryl) and Joyce (Tom) Wolf; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister Eleanor Rucier. Predeceased by brother, William H. Openshaw and sister, Jane Clayton. Services: Sat., April 9, 2011 at 11AM at The Church of the Redeemer, Springfield and Hillcrest Rds, Springfield. Visitation at 9:30AM at the church.
