Mrs. Adele Shanbacker passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square. She was 91. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, she was the daughter of the late Kiamil and Alice (Bozmayan) Sislian. She was also the loving wife of the late Frank M. Shanbacker, Jr.

Mrs. Shanbacker was a "war bride" and emigrated to the U.S. in 1946 and thereafter lived with her family on the Main Line and summered for many years in Stone Harbor, N.J.

She is survived by her two sons Frank M. Shanbacker, III of New York, NY and K. Edward (Noreen O'Meara) Shanbacker of Bethesda, MD and one granddaughter Elizabeth E. Shanbacker of Middlebury, VT.

A memorial service for Mrs. Shanbacker will be scheduled at a later date. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Bryn Mawr Hospital, 130 South Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 and Surrey Services for Seniors, 28 Bridge Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312-1716.
